We're giving away €40,000 in grants to SMEs in online retail!

We believe that every business knows exactly what they need to do to grow, but that sometimes the budget just isn’t there to make an idea a reality. It’s time to change that!

Motive Commerce Search is built for people who believe in sustainability, community, privacy and trust. We’re the fastest growing privacy-minded search for online stores on the market, and we like to do things differently.

While our competitors happily give hundreds of thousands of euros to Meta and Google each year to buy ads, we decided we would rather give that money directly to the SMEs that need it. Besides, those giant corporations don’t need our money anyway.

A grant that’s based on our values

At Motive, we’ve always known that Google and Meta’s display ads rely on some pretty invasive data tracking practices to function, and we've never felt comfortable running these types of ads, so we never have.

We’re also serious about supporting SMEs, and want to do everything we can to help the growth of local commerce. The Motive Grant is a way of supporting the community of retailers we serve while showing we’re serious about privacy and ethical data practices.

How does the Motive Grant work?

We want to help as many retailers as we can while also directly supporting the community of customers that trust us day in day out with their search needs. In the image below, you can see how we’ve split up the €40K.

Grants for retailers in Spain, the UK and Ireland

Retailers in Spain, the UK and Ireland can apply for grants worth €4,000 and €2,000. These grants are open to both Motive and non-Motive customers in these regions.

Grants for Motive customers

There are also two additional grants worth €5,000 for Motive customers anywhere inside the UK or EU. This grant is available to Motive customers on a paid plan or currently on a free trial.

How do you apply for the Motive Grant?

Applying for the Motive grant is easy, and any retailer that wants to take part in the contest can apply here. All that they need to do is say in 300 words or less what they would like to spend the money on. Once the contest closes, the winners will be chosen from the applications received.

For shops applying for the grant, we recommend including things like what they want to achieve with the grant, what their company values are, whether they’ll spend the money on multiple initiatives or just one etc. They can tell us if they want to diversify their product, want to attend an event, hire a web designer, invest in software, launch a loyalty programme or any other idea that will help their business grow. There are no boundaries!
